Forbidden Light Deck Tech – Pyroar FLI

Hello everybody, PikaPoster here, and welcome to the first real Forbidden Light deck tech. Today we will be showing off Pyroar FLI as well as how he comboes with Lysandre cards.

Pyroar FLI

Pyroar FLI

Pyroar 120HP [R]

[ABILITY] Unnerve
Whenever your opponent plays an Item or Supporter card from their hand, prevent all effects of that card done to this Pokémon.

[R][C][C] Dominating Fangs 80+
If Lysandre Labs is in play, this attack does 60 more damage.

Weakness – [W] x2
Resistance – [NONE]
Retreat Cost – [C][C]

Strategy

This card looks rather mediocre. It has meh HP, okay typing, a fairly decent ability, and a solid attack. It’s weakness is nice, but it has the worst retreat cost in the game. However there are a few cards that set Pyroar FLI apart.

Lysandre Labs

I decided to start with the obvious one. This card, if in play, pumps Pyroar FLI’s damage up from a low 80 to a solid 140. It also stops tool cards from working, which means no band or stone for either player. This is really the only thing that makes Pyroar FLI at all worth playing.

Pyroar-BREAK

This is a nice card to have on the side, as it gives Pyroar FLI a slightly boosted attack that does 180 instead of 140, and can use band if there isn’t a Lysandre Labs in play. It also gives Pyroar FLI 40 more HP, which in nice.

Deck List

I am going to aim for a semi-budget list, with no Lele, but still using cards like Octillery and Cynthia. Some tech options that I did not use include Koko, Latios, and Lysandre Prism Star, as well as others I did not think of. (Choice Bands are for when you don’t have a Lysandre Labs).
