Ultra Prism Deck Tech – Giratina and Lunala Prism Star

Hello everybody, PikaPoster here, bringing you the latest deck tech post. Today we will be looking at two psychic type Prism Star Cards, Lunala Prism Star and Giratina Prism Star.

Giratina Prism Star

Giratina ♢ 160HP [P]

When you play this Pokémon from your hand onto your Bench during your turn, you may attach 2 Psychic Energy cards from your hand to it.

Resistance – [F] -20
Retreat Cost – [C][C]

Lunala Prism Star

Lunala Prism Star

Lunala ♢

[P] Full Moon Star
For each of your opponent’s Pokémon in play, attach a Psychic Energy card from your discard pile to your Pokémon in any way you like.

[P][P][P][P] Psystorm 20x
This attack does 20 damage times the amount of Energy attached to all Pokémon.

Weakness – [D] x2
Resistance – [F] -20
Retreat Cost – [C][C][C]

With these cards being Prism Stars and all, you can only use one of each per deck. That means that you can’t very well base a deck off of them. Instead, you can run a single in a deck as a tech card.

Giratina ♢

This card does not seem to have much potential. It has decent HP and a resistance to Buzzwole, but it has a weakness to Zoroark. That means that the only decent aspect of this card is the ability. When combined with Lunala-GX and Super Scoop Up, I can see this being a cool combo. The only problem is that you would have to dedicate around one sixth of your entire deck just to using this mediocre combo. I’m not saying that Giratina is a bad card, but that it doesn’t have as much potential as other cards, such as Lunala ♢, for example.

Lunala ♢

Lunala Prism Star is a card that I see as having potential. It has an amazing first attack that lets you recharge your Pokémon late game. It also has an attack that is just plain better than Giratina’s attack. With the potential to KO high energy Pokémon, it could be a serious threat. If you are running a deck that needs Psychic energy quick, I would advise you to fit in a copy of this card.
