Ultra Prism Deck Tech – Leafeon-GX

Hello everybody, my name is PikaPoster, and today I bring you none other than Leafeon-GX. Today we will be looking at how this card can pair with other grass types, and possibly be used on its own.

Leafeon-GX ULP

Leafeon-GX 200HP [G]

[ABILITY] Breath of the Leaves
If this Pokémon is your Active Pokémon, once during your turn (before your attack), you may heal 50 damage from 1 of your Pokémon that has any Energy attached to it.

[G][C][C] Solar Beam 110

[G] Grand Bloom GX
For each of your Benched Basic Pokémon, search your deck for a card that evolves from that Pokémon and put it onto that Pokémon to evolve it. Then, shuffle your deck. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

Weakness – [R] x2
Resistance – [NONE]
Retreat Cost – [C][C]

Strategy

This card, at first sight, is a slightly underpowered utility card. However, with a GX attack that could potentially evolve three or four Pokémon, this card could be deadly.

Lurantis SM25

This card has an ability called Sunny Day, which allows your [R] and [G] Pokémon to do 20 more damage. This effect stacks, so you could have up to four Lurantis on the bench, boosting Leafeon-GX’s Solar beam up to 190 damage! Not bad, if I do say so myself. With Choice Band and Kukui, this card can 1 shot Gardevoir-GX and other threats.

Here is a scenario. Start with an Eevee and Tapu Lele-GX/Brigette. Go second. Energy Evolve Eevee into Leafeon-GX, Brigette for 3 Fomantis, finish your turn, and Grand Bloom for 3 or 4 Lurantis. Next turn, add a DCE and you can hit for fairly massive numbers.

Decidueye-GX

This is probably the optimal list. You can set up Decidueye without relying on Rare Candy, and then do the same thing as with Lurantis, but with the added bonus of bench sniping.

Deck List

For the sole purpose of not repeating every Leafeon-GX deck ever, I will not be using Decidueye. Instead, I will be using the Promo Lurantis, boosting my damage. For this list, I am using a thicker line of Leafeon-GX than normal, as it is the main attacker. I might try to add an alternate attacker such as Tapu Bulu or Pheromosa, but I don’t see it happening soon. I am also not using any Sycamore, because I think this deck can do better without discarding.
